Our history, our location and our provenance all contribute to what makes Tullibardine a drop of pure Highland gold, but it’s our craftsmanship that weaves these all together. Tullibardine is one of a select number of distilleries in Scotland that has its own cooperage, maturation warehouses, blending facility and bottling line all co-located on the one site. This ensures every drop of Tullibardine respects the brand’s heritage, values and focus on spirit and wood quality.

The pure spring water we use for Tullibardine, which we draw straight from the Danny Burn that runs beneath the distillery, comes from the surrounding Ochil Hills which were once mined for gold and where our ‘drop of pure Highland gold’ originates from.

The distillery’s place in Scottish history can be traced back as far as 1488, when a newly-coronated King James IV stopped by the site – then a brewery – to make the first ever recorded public purchase of beer in Scotland. Fast forward five centuries to 1947, and it was pioneering distillery specialist William Delmé-Evans that would define the site’s future. The Tullibardine distillery – which Delmé-Evans created and named after a small nearby medieval chapel and translates from the Gaelic as ‘lookout hill’ – would remain operational until 1993, when it was mothballed. It was bought in 2011 by family-owned French wine and spirits group, Terroir Distillers, under whose stewardship it has continued to thrive. With a growing range of award-winning whiskies, the Tullibardine range is available internationally and is renowned for its quality single malts and experimental cask finishes.
